Evangelical Catholic Church welcomes
US Supreme Court Rulings on
DOMA and Prop 8

The Office of the Presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Catholic Church is releasing a statement by Presiding Bishop James Wilkowski regarding today’s US Supreme Court ruling on DOMA and Prop 8.

William R. Morton
Director of Media and Communication

As our national family continues to travel the road towards unconditional equality and civil rights for all Americans, the Supreme Court of the United States has helped this journey to take a significant step forward.

In its ruling against DOMA and California’s Prop 8, the Supreme Court has rejected actions of overt political and social bigotry and discrimination aimed at denying gender-common couples the rights and dignity of marriage.

On behalf of the Evangelical Catholic Church, I congratulate the work of the Court.
