Canon 33: Canonical Relationship with other Jurisdictions

Pending Consideration and Approval

33:1  This jurisdiction welcomes the opportunity to build relationships with other validly consecrated jurisdictions.   

1. When opportunities become self evident, the House of Bishops shall give their advice and consent to the Presiding Bishop to enter into a canonical relationship with another jurisdiction through the instrument of a Concordat.

2.  A Concordat is a ecclesial diplomatic recognition of the validity of another jurisdictions orders and the validity of their sacramental and liturgical life.  Concordats recognizes and respects the sovereign standing and rights of the partner jurisdiction.

3. Jurisdictions within a Concordat may concelebrate the Mass and may offer pastoral and liturgical help and support when situations arise.
